ANIMAL CARE
Wild Animal care can be VERY difficult. Whether it is a mammal, reptile, amphibian or bird. Each category has its own difficulties & trials. We may think we can care for that cute little mammal because we have our cat and/or dog, but in reality, wild animal care is much more difficult & complicated.
It takes a lot of care, time and money. Not that I am saying you wouldn't have enough caring to "care" for them, but this is extremely time consuming care. The time. . . well most of us hardly have time for ourselves anymore, let alone some animal we can't keep, kwim??? The money. Well that is a whole other issue. Wildlife rehabilitators use all their own funds, or any donations that are given to them. That's all.
Here we will cover some of the triumphs & trials of Wildlife care.

NYS does have specific "nuisance wildlife" control laws. Before you go exterminating anything, be sure that you know whether or not it is illegal, or legal, to do so. Many states in fact do have similar such laws.
In NY, you CAN NOT capture, or kill a pigeon wearing a leg band. It is ABSOLUTELY against the law. This is for NWCO's, but it's likely applied to "citizens" too.
