Rescue, Rehabilitate, Release, Educate

On this page, I will (well, plan to :)  document my releases ~~

                        ( . . well if I remember & have time! :) LOL . .  I promise to do the best I can!)

Early 2007 ~ The 4 sisters were released! There's a pic in " Captured! " of the 4 sisters in Jan 2007 at slide #38. They did so great going out . . . 2 took off pretty quickly into the trees. .  & I really didn't see them again. .  The other 2 lingered longer & I saw them in the trees for awhile. After a few weeks, I could no longer see them in the trees :( I was always in hope that they were just out there running around somewhere. . . In Spring 2008, I got the biggest & best surprise! One of my released 4 sisters was coming around again! (I called them "Girlie Girls") (LOL) & when I saw her . .  I said that . . . & the way she responded to my voice, I knew she was one of my girls!! Well, I tried giving her peanuts & she took one from me still! This. . . bothered me! I didn't want her to come up to "just anyone"!! So I had to test it. . . I had my ex-husband (we were married still then) try to give her one. He had fed the girls for me on several occassions & had given them peanuts - so he wasn't a "complete" stranger to them. . . well, she wouldn't take it!! She wouldn't go anywhere near him!! I was RELIEVED!! At least somewhat! I knew she would not go to just anyone then!! AND!! The best surprise was that she chose to "come home" to have her babies! She had her babies in the roof over our garage & I didn't even know she had been sneaking in there! LOL. . .  I have a few pics of her babies. I will add the slide numbers for those soon. They apparently are not in there yet.

06/28/07 ~ Bunnies. . . There are pics in my album "Captured! " . . . This particular group mentioned here, starts with slide #67, and ends with slide #76 . .  it was actually 2 groups of buns I released at the same time. . . 1 group I had a bit longer then the other.

07/11/07 ~ Bunnies ~ Another group being released! In reality, this group should never have been "rescued". I think someone's animal found them. They were probably JUST beginning to explore & leave the nest & get ready to venture on their own, as they were already eating grasses, etc. Not nursing buns. The one little one had a problem with its back end & couldn't stand, it died. But the others all did well & were released, & hopefully have made some more bunny offspring by now:) Begins with slide #88, and goes through slide #99. ( " Captured! ")They were beautiful & healthy looking. . . Curious & scared. It was better to let them go & have a chance, then to die from stress.
